Quick meals are great for those in college who don't have access to a kitchen, those who don't have a lot of time for cooking, or those who just don't really know how. I don't often look for quick meals (mostly because I enjoy home cooking), but I do sometimes. Every now and then, I'd like to share some of the quick eats I find and my thoughts on them on my blog!
This week, I picked up a few things from Trader Joe's. That place is perfect for all the described people above! They give quick and easy options for those who aren't really satisfied with the typical T.V. dinners (like Hungry Mans and Lean Cuisines...not a fan).

The shu mai pictured above comes with nine pieces that are pretty good for an after school snack. I like microwaving these and sharing them with Jon when I get home in the afternoon before we start cooking dinner.
They're a great way to control my hunger without ruining my appetite for dinner!

Earlier this week I got home late and was WAY too tired and grumpy to cook. Instead, I used these! The servings look small but can actually be quite satisfying (especially with the naan on the side). It the perfect quick meal for me, because I love curries and it also came with rice, which meant I didn't have to cook any of my own. We all know that I love eating rice with everything!
The microwavable meals are $4 each, while the naan was about $3.

The curries are easy to microwave, while the naan needs to be cooked in an oven or toaster oven. Although, I'm sure the naan will probably cook fine in a microwave if need be. It may not come out quite the same, but it'll still be edible.
As you can see below, the curry portions are quite small. Rice is a pretty good filler though and the naan will help with that as well. I was worried at first that one microwave meal wouldn't be enough (one was for me, and one was for Jon) but I was just fine with the one!
Out of the two, I preferred the Chicken Tikka Masala to the Lamb Vindaloo, which is strange because at Indian restaurants I usually prefer the lamb. Both are really good though! Unless, of course you're not one for lamb. The lamb is definitely more spicy than the chicken, but if you're like me you'll like it!
