This post is my SEDA #5
I never really know what to talk about when I blog. Blogs are strange because you're usually reading about someone's life. And unless that person is someone you're invested in or take a really strong liking for, chances are their daily actions aren't going to be all that exciting. Whenever I blog I always think "Why would someone want to read about what I did today?!" Seriously. I'm not that interesting. I spend most of my life on Twitter and YouTube.
As a journalist I've also been told "Show, don't tell," since I first started reporting at 15. I try to be descriptive with my words and I try to use visuals more than anything. In fact, I have a hard time reading a blog if there are no pictures. Everyone loves pictures. I wish I had more friends who blogged. It's always a lot more motivating for me when I have friends who are involved in it too. Anyways...

I created this tag called the "Things I've Done Tag." I've been hearing a lot of people online talking about how they feel like they suck and having confidence issues. So I wanted to create this in order to get people to start talking about all the awesome things they've done as opposed to the negative stuff.
The premise of this tag is that you list anything that you can think of that you've done in your life and are proud of. Or something you've accomplished. Be it "I finally learned how to swim at 25 years old" or "I just hit x number of subscribers on YouTube."
Some of the friends I've tagged have also been saying that they haven't done many great things...but I think they're wrong. I think they're just looking at things the wrong way and need a new perspective. And if you genuinely feel like you haven't done anything amazing or anything to be proud of in your life--then this is your wake up call! You can't just sit on your butt and think about how "one day" you want to do _________. If you've always wanted to go on a trip somewhere, start a savings account for that. If you always wanted to start a certain project but you can only think about it in terms of your future self; STOP IT.
One of my friends on Instagram, who is a major fitness junkie posted this quote today. "Don't be upset by the results you didn't get with the work you didn't do."

Instead of thinking in terms of fitness though, think of it in terms of life. If you're not happy with where you are in life--then effin' do something about it!
Alright. I feel like a cheesy, "inspirational speaker" or something. I'm not trying to be cheesy whatsoever, it just isn't pleasant to see my online friends feel like they're not worth anything when I've seen the things they've done and know that there are people out there in the world who don't even compare to them. But they still have no confidence or faith in themselves. It can be frustrating and I want to help! So I'm trying.
