I realized that I haven't written about this place yet, even though I'd gone last weekend for a tea service with Aj.
Tea At 1024 is in Downtown Honolulu near Chinatown. It's not a place well known. It's a little shop, hidden among a row of cramped side streets that you wouldn't really find unless downtown was a place you frequented. The first time I went to Tea At 1024 in December 2012 I fell in love. Aj had suggested it because the two of us had a growing love for tea and she'd seen the place as her school was in the area. So she made reservations for when I got back during winter break and we went along with two of our other friends. It's a quaint shop with Chantilly and shabby chic decor.

When you first walk in and let the workers know that you do, indeed, have a reservation (I'm pretty sure you need one to have tea service here as it's quite a small shop) they ask you to pick a teacup and matching saucer as well as a hat, which is optional. This time around I brought my own floppy hat and chose a cute solid pink cup. We were seated at the table against the Audrey Hepburn wall and were quite excited about it.
The tea service is a flat rate of $20 per person which includes a salad, sandwiches (each person gets two of each sandwich and between the two of us we got to choose four different sandwiches), various desserts and an endless pot of a tea of your choice. You can have your tea plain, or on request they bring you a tiny jug of milk. Tiny, adorable sugar cubes are also on the table!
This time around I ordered the Cookies and Cream tea. It was really strange yet wonderful and, as our server recommended, great to have with milk, which is how I prefer my tea. The salad is usually the same; A spinach salad with a light raspberry dressing topped with feta cheese and berries. I'm not a fan of fruit--especially berries--but I really enjoy this salad. I just kind of push the berries to the side, sheepishly. Aj then proceeds to eat my fruit.
It may not seem like a lot of food especially when the sandwiches are finger-food size instead of standard sandwich size, but it's actually so filling we ended up with leftovers! I think it's probably because we enjoyed quite a few cups of our delicious tea. Another thing I absolutely cannot get enough of at this place is their scones and clotted cream! I would go just for these babies. Their scones are so rich and buttery and the clotted cream...I can't even begin to describe how much I love it! I was weary at first of trying it because I don't care much for whipped cream, but if I could have their scones and clotted cream every day, I would. Aj said when she studied abroad in England she loved the clotted cream and has been disappointed that she hasn't been able to find it anywhere in Hawaii. I'm now convinced that clotted cream needs to always be a part of my life.

The tea service at Tea At 1024 is adorable and fantastic. I'm probably going to come back again and again each time I come back to Hawaii. Aj and I have also decided that wherever we go on our travels we'll find a tea shop and have tea service everywhere!
